The LQ Foundation Scholarship was created in the loving memory of our mother and friend Laquitta Marie Jenkins-Butler, who passed away unexpectedly in April 2017 at the age of 51.
Laquitta herself struggled with a crack-cocaine addiction and an unplanned teenage pregnancy. However, she was determined to not let this be her life story. Through self-determination and rehabilitation Laquitta was able to get her life on track. Laquitta received her GED at the age of 34 and graduated from college with a degree in Electronic Computer Technology. After obtaining her degree she dedicated her time to helping and encouraging others so that they could do the same.
Being a student, whether traditional or non-traditional, may present many challenges. With this in mind, the LQ Foundation Scholarship was created to support your academic journey.
The LQ Foundation Scholarship is a form of aid to assist students with educational expenses and does not have to be repaid.
